KEEP MOVING FORWARD

Is life not going your way?  Are you wishing for more opportunities? I was recently reminded to keep moving forward. You can complain, get mad, and feel like you are a victim, or, you can have a forward thinking outlook and proactive approach.  The past cannot be changed and some things are inevitable, but one thing we always have control over is our attitude and to be forward thinking.

If you are not getting the interview or jobs you would like? What are you going to do?  Why not find new doors to open or try something new?  Walt Disney once said, "  We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."

What if something goes wrong?  Dennis Waitley states, " Don't dwell on what went wrong. Instead, focus on what to do next. Spend your energies on moving forward toward finding the answer."

Even if doors continuously seem to be slammed in your face, you never know what door will be the portal to new opportunity.  "You have to come to your closed doors before you get to your open doors... What if you knew you had to go through 32 closed doors before you got to your open door? Well, then you'd come to closed door number eight and you'd think, 'Great, I got another one out of the way'... Keep moving forward."  - Joel Olsteen

What if you feel as though your skill set is lacking, you nerves sometimes get the best of you, or maybe you are lacking body strength and stamina?  River Cuomo once proclaimed, "With each step I take, I see that my ability to perform gets a little better. So until it starts getting worse, I'm going to keep moving forward." Yes, there may be failures, but if you keep working toward a skill or goal, there will be progress.  If not, try something else and find a new path.

Moving forward doesn't mean you aren't allowed to feel negative emotions, after all, they are part of life and it is okay if they pop up from time to time, but don't let them linger (If they do, seek help from a professional).  According to Elizabeth Taylor, "...force yourself to get up...force yourself to put one foot before the other, and darn it,...refuse to let it get to you. You fight. You cry. You curse. Then you go about the business of living. That’s how I’ve done it. There’s no other way.”

What are you doing to keep moving forward?  How are you creating opportunities for yourself?    What are your strategies?
