ANOTHER CLOSING, ANOTHER SHOW

Every theatre, tv show, and/or film production must end sometime. For the past two months, I have been performing in Underbelly/Zach Theatre's production of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. http://www.broadwayworld.com/austin/article/BWW-Review-ALICE-IN-WONDERLAND-A-Family-Adventure-20160314 If you have ever had the experience of a show ending, you may have had these thoughts.
1. I'm going to miss this cast and crew. Whenever you do a show, you gain a family for the time you are together, and often, at least one close lifelong friend. You share personal stories and inside show jokes.
2. I'm going to have time to catch up on housework. Sometimes when you are doing a theatre show, you are juggling a second job. Consequently, you work, perform, sleep repeat...and your household suffers.
3. I'm going to have time to workout and/or take a workshop or class. Because you have been on set long hours or working a job AND doing theatre, exercise or classes may have been put on the back burner. When a show closes, the urge to hit the gym, take a dance class, or circle up with your vocal or acting coach starts to stir.
4. I'm going to have time to nurture relationships again. Often when you are involved in a show, you are rarely home or have time to spend quality time with friends, boy/girlfriends, spouses or kids. You look forward to lunch outings, movie time, and morning/evening snuggles.
5. I'm going to have to figure out my next project. At the close of a show, there is the thought that you are so glad to have some time to live your life outside of theatre or film/tv. However, it seems there is always the feeling that you need to have another project awaiting you, because you love your art...but also so when people ask, "What are you doing next?," you have an answer.
